Atlanta United 2 is the reserve team for MLS football outfit Atlanta United managed by former Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze. Retired Argentine national team star Heinzebecame the manager of MLS football club Atlanta United at the end of last year.

Manchester United loanee Stanley plays for Atlanta United 2 in the USL Championship, which is the second tier of MLS football in the United States of America. Stanley scored the lone goal for his team in a 1-1 draw with Indy Eleven earlier this week and was subsequently named the best player for Atlanta United 2.

Stanley is still a Manchester United but his long-term future at the club is in serious doubts. He was not one of the many young players released this summer to suggest that the Atlanta United 2 star might still have a future at Old Trafford. The Manchester United loanee could make the step up to Atlanta United to feature in MLS football if he continues to impress for the second team in the USL Championship. The 19-year-old Manchester player barely featured for the club’s u-23s last season before he was sent on loan to Atlanta United 2 earlier this year to suggest that he has a better chance to establish himself as a regular first team player in the United States. The Red Devil has made ten appearances for Atlanta United 2 this season and he had one assist to his name before the Indy Eleven clash this week. He opened his account for Atlanta United 2 against Indy Eleven as pointed out earlier.
