ATLANTA UNITED COACH APOLOGISES FOR PAY EQUITY STATEMENT

Atlanta United manager Frank de Boer has apologized for comments that he made in a recent interview regarding gender equity in football.

De Boer had surprised many in the football world when the Guardian published an article revealing where he rubbished the idea of equal pay for women.  During the interview De Boer had revealed that it was ridiculous for women to be paid the same fee as men.

BADJI STILL STRUGGLING

Dominique Badji hasn’t enjoyed a great time since he has landed at FC Dallas as he damaged his hammy pretty early in his stint and then when he made a comeback after recovering, that same injury resurfaced again and ruled him out of action for some more time, just adding to the frustration of the Senegal international.

But he is back on the pitch now, fit and fine, and even found the back of the net in the previous game Dallas played which although they lost as a team by the margin of two goals to one, but Badji’s form was certainly a positive sign for them as he looked agile and showed great intensity.

TORONTO COMPLETE ALEJANDRO POZUELO SIGNING

Major League Soccer outfit Toronto FC have completed the signing of highly anticipated forward Alejandro Pozuelo from Belgium side Genk. According to reports, negotiations took a while but both clubs have agreed to a deal that would see the player move by the middle of March.

Pozuelo is set to take the remaining Designated player spot after the departure of Italian midfielder Sebastian Giovinco. Giovinco is considered one of the best ever Toronto player of all time and helped the team to the league title two seasons ago. (more…)

CHICAGO FIRE POLSTER SIGNS FOR SCOTTISH GIANT RANGERS

United States of America defender Matt Polster,  has joined Scottish club Rangers from Major league soccer sideChicago fire The 25-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Glasgow club, which is managed byformer England captain Steven Gerrard.

 

Polster, who has trained with Rangers this month, won his only international cap to date in a friendly against Bosnia last year.Polster was selected as the 7th overall pick by the Chicago Fire on the 15th of January 2015, during the 2015 MLS SuperDraft and was signed to a contract on February 4. Matt Polster who can play at right back as well as in the midfield, made 83 appearances for Chicago fire and managed a only three goals. is the latest American to play for Rangers after DaMarcus Beasley, Carlos Bocanegra, Maurice Edu, Claudio Reyna and GedionZelalem.
